It rained today. It rained a lot. We took the Boys to the beach – had the whole place to ourselves. Not surprising considering the wind was blowing so hard it was raining sideways. The Boys played and ran like madmen up and down the beach and into the surf.
Merlin was especially happy to be playing stick...
He even made some sand angels...
While leaving, Bill noticed a feather jammed in the ground. Kind of neat. No footprints or anything around. Not that footprints remain in the sand long with hurricane force winds. Okay, slight exaggeration, but it was REALLY windy.
We came back to the trailer and used the outdoor shower to hose them off. This sounds like an easy task. It is not. It also sounds like all the sand would be off of them after they were hosed off. It was not. Endless gallons of water and 3 bath towels later, they were allowed inside. They weren't dry - we just gave up and figured they would dry the rest of the way in the trailer. Sand in the trailer... grrrrr.....you know how much I love sand. ;-<
We had leftovers for lunch and then spent the afternoon watching SG1. Yeah, I know...but there's nothing else to do in 20 mph winds and a heavy downpour...
We got an email from Sittinger that Larry Staner passed away suddenly from a heart attack. He was 57. I’m really sad for Michelle. I know how important her dad was to her. It’s certainly easy for me to empathize and my prayers are with her, Mrs. Staner and the rest of the family. Pastor Staner was an amazing man of God who impacted the lives of thousands of people. He will no doubt leave quite a legacy behind with all of his work at Open Door and his Outreach ministries. It’s very sad. Please keep the family in your prayers.
