August 9...SNRA (Day 14)

(Kim's Perspective)
We didn't do much again today. Mostly because of the rain.

This was really the first day since we've been here that the weather has been a "problem". Truthfully, it was nice to sit around, sip some tea, and get some "administrative" (i.e. banking, insurance enrollment, etc.) stuff done that had been hanging over my head.

I also decided to bake some biscuits to give to Karma for her dog, Chloe.

Since this was my first time baking biscuits in the trailer, I had to adjust to the different heat type and the small oven. My first batch yielded some burnt biscuits in the center of my baking stone, so I had to make some modifications.

Grrr...stupid propane oven. Fortunately, they weren't burnt beyond eating, and Twist and Merlin are always happy to help me do quality assurance. When we get home, they're probably going to put on a lot of weight once I start this bakery business full time. :) I have to watch out for Bill too...he steals them right off the plate as soon as they're done baking. For those of you who don't know...they're totally organic and made with ingredients I purchase at our Co-Op. So no, it's not really gross that Bill is eating dog biscuits - they taste like peanut butter scones. :)

Anyway, I put a thank you package together for Karma (biscuits and a can of organic dog food for Chloe and some organic tea, coffee, and hot chocolate for her) and once I had cleaned up the kitchen, Bill and I sat down to watch a movie (Monsters vs. Aliens - cute, but not the best we've seen).

We both read awhile and eventually between storms, we took the Boys for a couple of walks around the campground.

Like I said, not an eventful or especially exciting day, but not every day of our trip can be AMAZING now can it? :)
