It was time to leave our science fiction gateway, I mean getaway, so we packed up and headed north to our next destination, Rocky Mountain National Park. We headed up I-25 through Denver and Boulder and then took 36 towards Estes Park.
The scenery was like any you’d find on an interstate through a city. Besides, we’ve already been to Denver so it wasn’t all that interesting.
We liked this billboard a lot...
We can never seem to get away from Westminster.
Our first glimpse of the mountains...
Our first glimpse of wildlife…he was sitting at the McDonald’s in Estes Park. I guess no one told him…
We headed into the park and found a site at Moraine Campground.
It was cold and foggy and then it began to rain later in the evening. We contented ourselves with dinner, some tea and some sci-fi entertainment and then headed to bed with the overwhelming noise of rain on the roof.
